I've always been in awe of Dave's abilities to lay track quickly ... and to high standards. However, I've been dabbling with the RE and UKFS myself recently (no intentions of releasing any results though - not good enough!), and now the level of respect has just gone up exponentially!!!

Can't wait for the release ...

Regards,
Mike

P.S. Still waiting for that extension to Pompey!

Wow, that looks superb! :D

I just wish I could do scenery that quickly as well, and help cover at least some of the extensions suggested, as track is in place already!

Does anyone have any suggestions for solving the aplpha problem on Waterloo International roof? I think I still have the original model somewhere, and could convert the to TransNorm to stop the buildings disappearing, unless there is a better way?

You cannot compare them because DC is freeware and uses freeware objects, and SWL does not, they are built in completely different ways, and designed with different purposes in mind. Remember also that we have to build all our scenic objects ourselves, whereas Dave has to only place the ones already available, hence why he works so bloody damn quickly! Its often hard to keep track of him...

Crumbs, this route is extending by the day!!! How many services go from Waterloo to Weymouth??

I'm not sure if I should carry on during my activities for V2 with V3 on our doorsteps!

Great work Dave :)

With all of your suggestions here it looks like I might end up building most of the UK rail network. :D :D

Seriously though, this is likely to be my last project for MSTS as I working with Making Tracks on one of the core routes for one of the new simulators. It just depends on the timing of things.

I was hoping to just extend North of Basingstoke so that V2 activities would work OK on V3, but I had to realign the track slightly on the main line north of Basingstoke. I have fixed all the paths for V2 activities that have been uploaded to date, so I will include these as part of the V3 upload.

Although the freeware and commmercial ware cannot be compared, this is an amazing achievement! and it's free!!!

I say raise a glass and your hats off to Dave for an outstanding achievement which is not beaten!

Well Done Dave! :D

if the extentions go ahead all dave needs to do is Reading West junction - Rickerscote Junction and convert TMv4 to UKFS unless marc over at 3DTS does a British version of scale rail.

LOL. It would be easier to connect via the West London line - only a couple of miles apart at that point.
