It was such a requested unit that someone got it to a half presentable state for me and got it uploaded. It would still be rotting on my HDD without Gary's effort.

Why should it have ?

Anyone can build a cab for a model if they want to replace something that uses default or the wrong cab / sounds, no one would moan, but unsuprisingly, no one has stepped up and done any of the work required. (like WAS done with the Voyager I think)
Some excuse about "dont know how to", or "don't have the time" will probably be the answer. I don't have time at the moment. You were lucky to get the improved 442 for the DCv1 CD.
This is the 'fun' of freeware, you risk getting half arsed half finished models as there is no real incentive to do it if the author does not want to, or does not know how to.

Hertford, there wasnt (i probably stand correct here) a sound file made for the 442 because the original sound file that was with the first 442 was the same sound as the EB 4VEP.

If you want sound id make a sugestion in the sound forums, and not go off topic although the units are used on the route this is the route builders forum.

Couple of points.
I dont think EB have done anything other than a Cig.
And the 442 was released LONG before WCW was.
I suspect the original 442 just used default sounds, or maybe the Southern sounds that were knocking around once before.

what wasd that unit in south central livery on here 34?? the Gatwick express 73 and MLV'489' had the same sound.

ooh wait now its just come to me, 1705 thats were the sound came from.

the southcentral vep was a download used the cig cabview and sounds :lol:
