The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

The plans for the Met. Line have been talked about for years now. The bit that makes me laugh is that they stopped the Bakerloo Line running to Watford Jcn. in 1982 because the DC platforms were unable to cope with the etxra traffic and now they want to send LONGER Met trains there instead.
I also wonder what the local residents think about Watford tube station closing. In my opinion this has the same bearing as Crossrail - a lot of years talking about it but hardly any building work.
i was reading a really interesting page about the croxly green branch its so cool are they planning to reopen it
This page has better details about the lines around Watford, the history and the proposals: http://underground-history.co.uk/croxley.php

I'll keep this in mind when i'll build Clapham.

The line won't progress in the next few days as I go to ski. I'll continue the work when i'll be back.

I'll post screenshots of the progress often as possibly.

Hi popol! The route looks great!

Just a quick question. The unit in the screenshot, do they usually have 3 car multiple units on that route? Im asking this because i really dont have a clue!

Looking good by the way! :D

It is normally just 3 car Class 313s (with 4 car Class 377/2s forming the Brighton - Watford trains).

The reason Silverlink Metro runs 3 car 313 opposed to 6car is due to the platforms of Willesden Junction

There is a strong possibility that when we (Silverlink Metro) lose the franchise in 2007 and is transfered to TfL, new longer trains are proposed (4-car) and ALL relevent stations between Willesden and Stratford are to be lengthened accordingly. (The Stratford to North Woolwich section will have closed by then) The same should apply to the Watford-Euston DC service, though platforms are already long enough. Anything to get rid of those bloody useless 313's!!

Big changes are planned - watch this space.

PS.. shhh.. I haven't told you this yet!!!

Hi !

Ok guys, I need some advices from you. As some have seen, the terraforming process has failed. So I have done it now, and here begin problems. For the station of West Brompton, all is ok, but as my line is a little low, the tracks don't fit very well to the landscape anywhere else. And moreover, the line doesn't follow the real coordinates, so the line will fit less and less to the landscape.
So here the question : do I continue to build the line without terraforming it, making the landscape myself, or do I use the lanscape terraformed and i modify it to make it fit to the line?

here some screenies of the line terraform :

I hope I made me clear.

Thank you for your advice.

As I said earlier, terraforming will make things easier in the long run with things such as the Thames. For it to work well, however, you will need to relay the track to it's actual co-ordinates (It's fairly easy to get them off the net and transfer them into the marker file). Although you'll need to relay the track, using the bulk selection tool means you can just move the scenery over. It'll undo all your good work so far, but will probably be worth it in the long run. It's your decision really.

Hello!

Terraforming has been done, and I'm now back on track. Here's some screenies of the line. There still a lot of work to do. There is very very few scenery. The line presently goes from Kensington Olympia to Clapham Junction.

Here's Kensington Olympia: The district line hasn't been built yet.

Hello !

The route is still progressing, but very very slowly, due to editor's problems and university ;-)

I need some information to continue the work:

1. Is someone have the coordinates of the two new stations: Sheperd Bush and imperial wharf? . I can't see them on google Earth so I can only guess where they'll be, and it's not that easy!

2. What are the speed limits along the route. I know the max speed is 70mph, but I think it's not for the whole line.

3. What are the position of the point where the overhead line change in third rail? Have you got the coordinates? Or the street in btw the change takes place.
And have you got some photos?

I know it's quite a lot, but as I live almost 1000km in the south, it's difficult for me to find all this.

Hope you can help me.

Paul

PS: I'll post some screenshots when I'll have the time.

I can't give you the exact co-ordinates but i can narrow it down for you alittle.

It is on an Embankment, between Olympia or site of Shephards Bush and Willsden Jnc. There is a road parallel to it on the left (West) side of the embankment and most trains stop on a road overbridge.

Not sure if a Petrol Station is nearby. Google Earth may be the answer here.

It is fairly close to the first junction... can't remember the name... Acton Wells? but it is WAY before North Pole Junction.

I am looking forwards to this route, no matter how long it takes you how many other commitments you have, just take your time and enjoy yourself creating this route. If you do that then it is truely a masterpiece.
Sorry I'm getting all deep and meaningful now, lol.
