Is there any news on how the Midland Main Line is coming along,
that's the one from Kettering to St Pancras.

Hoping the chaps who were building it have not given up..........Rick

I don't think so. One of the guys has been without internet access for a while and has not been able to concentrate on the route too much due to personal priorities. But as far as I'm aware, the route is still on!

I'm trying to find out for myself how he's getting on......

Good news.............

I managed to get Jason's email address from the site,
he tells me it is still on going and not abandoned also
he has and is building another route to run into London
as well although it will be a while yet afore any appear.

Thanks for your interest

I can confirm that what Doug said is true and I am still working on the MML route, but the route runs from St Pancras all the way to nottingham via trent junction. Please dont ask me about when it is to be released as it is a long way off being released, although I have working on scenery creation. The main point is theroute is alive and kicking!

The 'personal priority' Doug speaks of is my new found extreme sport, kite landboarding! Extreme! :evil:

Because you can then use the Midland Mainline trains on UKTS for the proper route.

I would like to see it 60 or 70 years earlier so I can give a Jubillee a good thrash on an XL limit booking!

Not to mention fully load a Garrat up to 100 wagons on the goods lines! :)

My era would be would be around the time the route to Bedford was electrified and you had the outgoing Peaks and 127(?) DMU's replaced by HSTs and 317s.

I've plenty of peaks and now just need a route to give them a good run on!

The route is still in the pipeline, i haven't heard from jon in a long while, so i don't know what his feeling are regarding the route. Unfortunately the route has a few major track database errors, and I'm not really up to correcting them at the moment. My wish is that TMTS will be able to help iron out these errors and the route should see the light of day sometime after it is release.

No, but this one does. It runs from St Pancras to Nottingham.

I would recommend "Line by Line: The Midland Route" if you haven't got it already. I used to frequently travel from Flitwick to London on the Thameslink
so know the route well. I even started to do the Bedford to Moorgate route using UKFS, and laid track between Flitwick and Luton. It's not easy to try to keep to a 10' spacing between main and slow lines around those long sweeping curves but it is possible. I live in hope for the natural track sections to do it. If you need any info on this section, I could probably help.
