But the route editor is acting funny with me, so i will have to solve that out lol

As david say, john, i can't fine the failed attempt. I am just starting again, as i made quite a bit of mistakesd and if i tried to fix them in RE it would mess up the rest of the route, so the only possible thing to do was to start again. :)

So john, u are the weakest link, goodbye

Well thats a failure in my book..........ie the route failed.
You may well attempt another one or another hundred...but the first one has FAILED....theres nothing to disagree with...its a fact....hence my post....another one bits the dust.
Cheers

Anway, the new track building on the OLD sodor route i was doing will commence on monday, as i have 2 weeks holiday so it will give me lots more time to build it ( anyway, me going to aviemore on the weekend, so it will give me a chance to think things through )

Oh, and i have started to create some more models for the route, i have created a water tower already in just 1/2 hour :D

Why am I not surprised

Can't think what you are doing in RE that's causing it to be acting funny. I've never really had any major problems with it, and there's many who've been successful using RE.

RE kept freezing when using the arrow buttons, or some commands such as the "n" command wouldn't work, but a full re-install of msts has fixed that

i'm sure you know this already, but during my soujourns into the RE (none of which have yet resulted in anything worth showing screenshots of) I found that it would start playing up after about 15 mins, and closing and reopening the editor would solve that - I had to go back to the desktop rather than the editors menu though. I was getting similar problems to those you describe above.

I put it down to a shortage of RAM. (256MB).

Chrisj94: Some scenery ( once i actually give him something to do lol )
Ian Campbell: reference, and texturing ( if he's up 2 it he says )

Jonathan, was it you I sent the scans from an old Railway Modeller to last year? It was an early 1960s issue and the article was about the Rev Awdry's 00 gauge layout of Thomas' branch line. The article included a map by Rev Awdry that showed the branch in quite a lot of detail. If it wasn't you I sent it to, then PM me with your email address and I will send the scans on. You could use the track plan and general station layout from the 00 gauge model for Thomas' branch terminus, it's nice and simple (IIRC the Rev's layout was only on a 6x4 board).

Hi Jonathon

Take no notice of the "knockers" and keep yourself motivated.

Lots of people are helping you to achieve your "dream" and we will all benefit from your final result.

I always told my children and my employees (before I retired) to follow their "dreams" and it was the best advice I ever gave them as invariably they do come true.

Keep on trying your best Jonathon.

Kindest Regards

Mike

PS I wish I had your talent when I was 15 years old!!
