Pressing 'Y' doesn't make terrain fit to track

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Pressing 'Y' doesn't make terrain fit to track

Post by yerkes »

Can anyone advise me here (sorry if this has been answered before - I have tried looking around the forum, honest!)?

<IMG width="642" height="523" SRC="http://www.atomic-album.com/showPic.php ... enshot.JPG">

When I press 'Y' to make the terrain fit to the track, I end up with the track as shown - i.e. some of the track is still submerged beneath the terrain. I've tried lowering some of the (DEM) terrain which has helped a bit but obviously I don't want to mess around too much with it.

Hope this makes sense - I'm still learning as you can tell...

Michael

Sometimes on a tile edge you need to attach the next section of track before the terrain polygon displays correctly on the one as shown. In addition check the min/max height values for the affected tile. In some instances you may also need to set an error bias of 0.0 to eliminate terrain jaggies.

Also, if the track is on a gradient, you will need to start at the top of the hill, working your way down the gradient, track piece by piece, pressing "Y" as you go!
