new route

Post by Rathdrum »

Hi all

I'm having a go at building an Irish route at the moment finding it abit of a burdan though quite a large workload for one person. I have drawings of some buildings which have been able to get my hands on all i need is someone to volunteer to make textures for them, anyone interested??

Might be worth posting up some images of the untextured models and some of the route itself, as there are always loads of requests for volunteers on here. However some times (rarer now) where people ask for help and then the route goes nowhere.

Proof of progress I guess. Always helps :)

It is a big workload, but increasingly route builders who want custom objects are making their own and budgeting time wise for that in their construction schedule. It can take almost as long to build and texture a modest model, as it does to place scenery adjacent to 3 miles of track but a necessary evil if you don't want default buildings.

There has been so much vapourware over the last 12 months (including projects I've announced then lost interest in) that very few 3D modellers would be prepared to take on a specific commission without some guarantee the finished route will ever appear. This applies particularly something as specialised as station buildings which could not be recycled as generic objects.

As Luca says, the first step to pique some interest is to be rather more specific about your project and the odds of it being finished.
