there's no freeware standard 5 that I know of. The rest I can't comment on.
I don't have LSE, but from what I've seen it's a very nice package and well worth buying if you have a computer that's good enough - it doesn't look like it'll be easy going for a top of the range computer, so if you have an old machine then it won't work very well on it.
Don't know what a SET class 462 is, but networkers are available somewhere or other. Try class 465 and 466 in a search.

Re: wartime route
Whao! Calm down there!
As for the war time route, I seem to rember starting one a while back, built a small army depot, a few billet huts, tanks and a few other things, activities included, move the tanks to the front line, they are needed fast!
I never got round to building a front line though!
When I get MSTS back up and running, Id quite like to build a fictional one!
Try the North West England, take a look at the CD ordering page.camelot73082 wrote: i desperactly need a route to run my class 85s on needs an overhead wire

Why not just a Military Railway, based perhaps in peacetime, thereby overcoming the Political issues? Certainly Longmoor or Bicester would make interesting mini-routes, with reasonable scope for slightly 'different' activities and unusual trains. Also there's the Narrow Gauge angle, sites like RAF Chilmark, RNAD Dean Hill, to name but a very few. Not much scope for operational interest, but something not in the public eye quite the same as the ubiquitous North Wales NG.
