Everything you need to know about UK Finescale is on the UK Finescale site.
If you're already halfway through the Abacus Guide, then you're faster than I am; I'm pretty intelligent and I still haven't read it all. If you've already built the test route and it works, then you don't need advice from us - YOU should be teaching US, because you've learned more in the last twenty four hours than we learned in six months.
I thought I'd been trying to help someone who sincerely needed help, and was seriously learning impaired; it seems I was wrong.
As of now, you're on your own.

so uve done A-J sections of creating the route. Well theres still a bit to go yet, but if you read between the letter sections it explains alot about what your trying to do.
Though are u not getting errors with track laying now as you'll have laid quite abit already. Did you find out what was causing the errors as it would be useful for when others who are starting out, so they know how to solve issues if the same thing is repeated
Must congratulate you though. The other day you said you were a slow learner and now your at a stage where you've read 10 sections of a games development guide in under 2 days. Ive been dabbling with this for over a year and not been that quick at learning aspects.
I predict by the weekend you should have completed the guide and be well on your way to getting that London route done
Nice 1

Thanks everyone it will probably be another 3 days before i complete the first route but i probably just keep collecting information about the route for a few months or so but i still got a hell of a lot to learn about bridges and objects and signals but ill learn eventually.
I still get errors on certain pieces that i select but they may not be the default tracks.
I can select nearly all of the track pieces now though eg - at1100mstrt.s
and so on but maybe you have to lay all the track before u put in any objects which is what i didnt know the other day.
The guide is really good and well worth the money you pay 4 it and it has really taught me alot about route building.
Thank you for all your support guys and i will keep u informed on my route and post any screenshots when i finally get round to doing it.

I hope that we've all learnt something from the events that have unfolded in this thread.....to be patient, to persevere, to take advice...and especially to pull together.
I thought we were a little hard on Nigel....but he's shown us he's serious about what he wants to do, and has surprised us all. And I look forward to seeing some of his work one day.
Thud!......that's me getting of my soapbox.

Once you have got all the extra track sections that you want to use installed, like UKFS, then if you download and run Mike Simpson's RouteRiter it has an option to create a bespoke tsection file containing only the track and road sections you have actually got installed.
This means sections like at1100mstrt.s that you do not have installed won't show up anymore. I've used that to stop sections I haven't got installed showing up and very useful it is too.

First of all select Help > Contents and read so you don't run an option by mistake that deletes something you may need!
The option I referred to is in the MSTS File Utils - Make tsection.dat.
Don't forget to back up the exisitng tsection file in case you need to put it back for any reason (such as adding further track shapes or more roads when you can run that Route Riter option again.)

Rather than reinvent the wheel, you can download station platforms from this site. Look through the download section of the front page for all the little bits you want.
You will also find instructions on how to use downloaded items like platforms in the Route Building Guide, as they will need to be 'added' to your route, rather than just put into the respective folders. Once 'added' you will be able to select and palce them in RE just like you would bits of track.
