Hi there
I am 13 also, but as my first proper route,i am creating a Peak Rail CD.
With some help and support, and a little bit of patience,it comes pretty easy.
just stick with it,it sounds an intersting route, and more london based mainline routes would be great
Thanks
All the best
Chris

TrainSimFiles wrote:UK FineScale (UKFS) is a comprehensive track system for Microsoft Train Simulator, based on UK track specifications. Although designed for UK operation, UKFS can be used for routes in other countries where the gauge is 1.435m and the standard double track separation is 3.41m (or similar). This track system brings parallel tracks much closer to together. Together with its superior track design, UKFS is the leading standard gauge track system for MSTS.
UKFS uses completely original models and textures, and so not visually compatible with default track or other track systems - though interconnection is possible if necessary.

trainsimfiles is the HOME of UK Finescale. All the relevant information is on there.
Go to the site, click on 'Products' then either the first picture or its caption will take you to the Finescale part of the site. Work your way down the left hand menu, item by item, and it will tell you everything about UKFS that anyone here knows.
Briefly:
What it is - a track system designed to be more protoypically accurate for UK routes than the standard track.
How to use it - exactly the same way as default track, but not at the same time.

Tunnel sections go either way, use the 'T' key to turn them round. Third rail may be different, but I don't use it, so I've no real idea what differences there may be.mk006p1955 wrote:ok im trying to have a go at buildinfg a practice route first but what is the name of the tunnel that goes right and im still getting error messages when i try building road sections and bridges any1 got any ideas?
Don't build roads until you've laid all your track.
Don't add level crossings until you're ready to add roads
Don't add bridges until you at least know where your track goes.
Don't add signals until last.
First advice AGAIN:
Read everything on the trainsimfiles site about UKFS.
Get Michael Vone's Route Building Guide. Read it, then build the First Route in the Guide.
Do the preparation BEFORE trying to lay track; many people, like Michael, have already done the hard work the hard way and have made their expertise available. Use it.
Don't keep asking dumb questions which you could answer yourself if you did a little research; people will get fed up with you.
Do try FIRST, then ask questions; then give as much detail as reasonable in your questions. Asking 'which tunnel section do I use?' is like asking 'how long is a piece of string?'. What length of tunnel section do you want? is it straight or curved? if it's curved, what radius? single, double, triple or four-tracked? two, three or four rail? narrow or standard gauge? default, X-tracks, scalerail, ukfs?
See what I mean?
Do your best to help yourself and you'll learn a lot more; help is here when you get stuck, but how on earth do you think everyone else found out what to do? They tried, made errors, and tried again. You have to 'pay your dues' as they say; earn some respect by trying, then you'll get treated respectfully.
