Hi all
I have been doing a bit of adaption to a route i own.I need to get from where RE places me to the other end of the line.
It would take me about 2 hrs + to navigate it using the camera.
Is their a quicker way?

There's a little program called 'Jumper' available from http://www.train-sim.com which reads your markers file and allows you to choose a marker, then 'jump' directly to it. You can also do it directly from the Camera window in the RE if you know the lat/long of the place you want to jump to, but Jumper makes it easier.

A very simple way is to keep a record (I used a spreadsheet) of the lat / long co-ordinates of salient features within your route (eg. stations, junctions etc) . It's then just a case of entering the specific one needed in the camera box when RE launches, press 'jump', and hey presto!

Same here...I use the AE to quicly locate what I need, make a note of long/lat (top of the screen) ,go to RE enter co-ordinates in 'Camera' click jump..
The AE is very useful as you can see huge distance of the route and then pinpoint your spot by zooming.
Nowt wrong with Jumper but it only does 'Markers' (as far as I remember

Has anyone found a way of opening AE and RE simultaneously? Very occasionaly I have been able to that and they will both happily work side by side. The problem is that each time I have been able to do it it's been a pure fluke. It's happened when I have double clicked on the icon to load the editors and just occasionally I have been rewarded with two selection screens enabling me to open both AE and RE simultaneously. The vast majority of time I attempt this though, I simply get a message telling me that Train Simulator is already running.

The only guaranteed way is to use two computers side by side, works nearly every time!choccy wrote:Has anyone found a way of opening AE and RE simultaneously?
I suspect if you alter a route in RE while fiddling with the same route in AE it might send MSTS into a bit of a tiz.
