What happened to all your over routes?

Like the "super" GWML route you were cooking up?

Are you aware that John Kendrick's hopefully soon to be released Yorkshire Coast Railway includes the stretch from Rillington to Whitby, ie Pickering to Grosmont, albeit with double track before the NYMoors group took over the line, AND, I believe a commercial group have their eye on it.

How do you know it will be 'much more enjoyable' until your route comes out?

Thank you John. In case of any confusion the 'eye on it' refers to a commercial version of the NYMR, and not my YCR which will be available as a free download and UKTS CD as soon as I have received permissions to use objects from two object uploaders. I've been waiting nearly a month for these already, so sorry for any delay.

For screenshots of the YCR, there were a couple of threads about it in the screenshot forum about a month ago, though these didn't cover the NYMR section. I'll continue the screenshot series to cover that branch.

Out of interest, a forum user from the USA visited the NYMR recently and built a NYMR route too the night he got back to his lodgings!

Really? I don't think you could build 18 miles in a night....

Thanks John for clarifying the commercial part of my entry.

I am fortunate by being involved in a small way to help John test his route, and anyone who tries to produce the NYMR route in future whether it be modern single track or the old double track, freeware or otherwise, will have to work very very hard to match John Kendrick's standard. I have seen a few routes in my time and this will take a lot to match as John looks for perfection, and is almost there.

For John, this is not a mutual admiration entry, just plain fact.

Well I have a copy of it. It's just a single track in a Eurasia demmed landscape, but not a bad effort for a night's work. It's like many of the early routes that were uploaded to UKTS, ie very basic. It was interesting to compare the terrain of his route to mine! That was very much better than early uploaded routes.
