Hawkhurst Branch scenery + stock

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Hawkhurst Branch scenery + stock

Post by homeo »

Calling all scenery and stock builders,
Although fairly experienced with UKFS and terrain, ( trackwork is progressing well from Paddock Wood to Hawkhurst ) I need someone ( or more than one ) to create some custom scenery for the route, and maybe even some stock and locos that used to run on the line (period = mid BR - ~1955.) Also, if anyone has, or can take, some photos of buildings, stations etc, that would be great.
Thanks,
Tom

What sort of stock would operate the line?

Erm,
BR class Hs, class Cs, class Os, class Rs, and possibly Qs. I can't identify the coaches, I'm afraid.

Some Bullied corridor coaches in SR livery have been uploaded here recently, plus some ex-L&SWR non-corridor stock in SR colours, so although probably not completely accurate you have the coaches there to give it a near-correct feel.

I've got an O1 almost done (the last one that ran on the Hawkhurst line, now at Bluebell) and some birdcage stock started. I'll let you know when they're done.

I don't think he means Maunsell Q class, judging from the rest of the classes that ran on the line. They were probably Wainwright SECR Q's or Q1's 0-4-4's

I've got a few photos of the branch and possible some drawings - I'll do some digging.

p.s. my first birdcages are the 50' "A" set which were probably also used on the line.
