I was just wondering what other people thought about this.
On my PC at the moment I currently have the Severn Valley, the Cambrian, Blackpool Tramway and the South Tyne route installed for MSTS and have the Ffestiniog and the Haute Somme in reserve in another folder. I find that I get terribly bored with routes where there are long periods of high speed running involved and also tend to lose interest of most routes in explorer mode fairly early into driving on them - activities definitely make routes.
I have hankered after a railway centre type route for a while now - something like Didcot which would take up very few tiles, which would include a short running line, plenty of siding space and sheds.
Does anyone else want one? I couldnt manage a prototypical one but have often played about with something on the flat using the GWR shed and stuff available on this site

I should expect my Foxfield Line will be right up your street, its only 3 1/2 miles long, but the 1950's version has a colliery, exchange sidings, and lots of other various gradients, sidings, and shunting opportunities. The modern version will alos have a colliery platform for passenger trains, and the ability to work demonstration freights as well.

KWVR route at 5 miles Oxenhope Branch and 8 miles GNR to Queensbury, both with frequent stops is recommended

You should try the Bala Hub...you'd love it..

Much depends on the activities written for the route. MidEast has scope for all sorts - local passenger, MGR coaltrains, high speed expresses, pickup goods in places... something for everyone.

Yeah I know what you mean...but who minds being lost on such lovely route.

there at least two yards on there to die for.

ref the Bala Hub and getting lost - the tracks around the eastern end of the line are very complex. I had thought of producing a track diagram like that available for the Cannock Chase route, but it became too difficult for me, even checking against old maps and the like, so I gave up!
It could be a challenge for anybody with time to spare and a benefit to users of the route.
