Hi

Does anyone have any idea where I could get a gradient profile of the Foxfield Railway? I am planning on making a basic version of it, with semi-accurate trackplans, but I need some gradients for the route though. DEM terrain has been done, and markers have been put along the track.

Does anyone even want this route? If so please reply. Also, I wouldn't mind if someone scanned me some gradient info, just to help get me started.

Where is the route?
You can find more about the foxfield railway at:
http://www.foxfieldrailway.co.uk

I have looked at all my info but regrettably I haven't got a gradient profile for this route. I had hoped I got it somewhere as I have visited Foxfield a number of times.

Chris, Maybe you could contact the railway for this kind of information.

Hi Jan

I'd be happy or any information frankly, Its amzing how little there is out on the net and I can't find any books. I've given up on the Gradient profile-I just layed the colliery gradient (1in19 in places) by guess work, by working out roughly the height of the colliery and Dilhorne Park, and then just connecting them up with track ranging from 1in28 to 1in19

I'd like to see a Fowfield Route as somewhere nice to run the industrials in a challenging environment, I believe there is a very steep bank on the extension, and with the Fowfield Colliery represented, it would give the route a different feel to most others.

Hi David

This is a shot of Dilhorne Park, with the colliery lien descending to the right

And this is of Foxfield Colliery, looking towards Dilhorne Park, you can clearly see the 1in19 gradient, although these shots are very much development shots, and because I am going to include lots of little details, like weeds, broken fences etc, this route will probably take some time, although I did start it on Saturday! Unfortunatley, I wont have a custom Foxfield colliery, unless someone volunteers to do it. This will be my first prototypical route, so I want to make it just right :D
However, my biggest problem is info, I have no gradient profile as I have already said, and very few pictures, mostly of the colliery gradient, so any help in that department would be great, even if you have only got a few pictures.

Thanks Mate - That will help enormously, its exactly what i am
looking for.

You wouldn't have any info on trackplans would you? While not absolutely neccesary for the first release, I will need a track plan of the upper yard at the colliery, something which I didn't know existed until yesterday when I found a pic of it.
