The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.
Hi all, could you give me your Wire heights please for your routes, I would like this info for the Ac Pack from Bluearrow, I intend to provide different wire heights for the panto's on these loco's if you guys have different wire heights
Commercial or freeware this ensures we have compatibility and will help the end user run the right loco's without looking silly - answers below please chaps!

I think 5.7 may be to low because the pantograph in 86245 is above the wire.
Wasn't there a standard decided on ages ago? Also, whats the height for GNEREastcoast, that seemed to use a standard height, as I remember most of my stock working with it.
Would it not be better to do it t'other way round?
Set the pantograph height of the models, and then state in the README "For optimum appearance, please set the overhead cable height of the route you intend to run these locomotives on to xxx metres" and then give instructions on how to do this?
Just a thought,
Terry
PS.. sorry, it's a bit pointless giving the info. for NWE.... as less than 50% of the route is actually electrified in real-life, I've set the cable height at 1500.2 metres (don't ask me why the point 2!), and just relied on gantries to give the "impression "of electrification.

Two rules to get you through life: If it's stuck and it's not supposed to be, WD-40 it. If it's not stuck and it's supposed to be, gorilla glue it.
Thanks Chpas, GNER is at 5.7 what I am looking at is making a set for the wire heights mentioned above so you can just drop in the relevant file as required, this will give you the panto heights required for your route.
Saves messing about and a good aid for the non computer savvy people out there.
