Not the preserved bits - the whole line before it was chopped up in the 60's. This (along with the whole WCML) is one of the UK MSTS Holy Grails.....

I'd welcome any MSTS preserved line, this one would be good due to the new 45mph speed limits to be introduced and thier ability to do 60mph on test trains, no pain in the arse 25mph speed restriction here......

It would be best also to depict the line as they hope to finish it Ruddington-leicester double track throughout.........

Also who is doing this project?????????

At least your being realistic from the outset. Sadly though u must be the 10th person at least since ive on these forums, to ask if people would be interested in the GCR for MSTS.

Of course the answer is always a unanamous yes, the route author goes off and 6 months later they claim to have never offered to do it, time constraints, they got bored, it was too complex, or they simply vanish.....

Even if you just do the London Extension that's 80 miles from Marylebone to Rugby. Looking at around 4 - 5 months work. To do the route justice, the stations and distinctive blue brick viaducts/bridges would all need to be built as custom objects.

And inevitably the great leveller at this stage, is what about MTS2? If we know anything produced now is going to work or be partially convertible then not a problem. Otherwise same as with starting any long route from scratch at this point - not worth it if it's only going to be current for a couple of months on release.

Also from the route builder's point of view, while the GC would be a crowd pleaser that same 80 miles worth of effort could produce the WCML from Euston to Rugby.

However I would love to see the GC London Extension in MTS and might even contemplate doing it once the MTS2 position is clarified. You are talking to the guy who took his Suzuki 100 phut phut through Catesby Tunnel in 1979, before it got sealed up.

To do the London extension justice I think you would need to include that portion now preserved, so making the 'required' northern end of the line Nottingham Vic.

I would love to see this modelled in GC days, prior to or during WW1 and would be delighted to be a part of a team that would produce custom structures, rolling stock and actvities.

Me too. I'm a beginner at MSTS, but I have a reasonable library, including George Dow's magnificent 3 volume history, which covers the London extension in detail. I'd be happy to feed information etc.

Put me down for it. Stations that can be whizzed past without seeing them?... Lovely.
