Hi all,
Finding trackwork easy to place now but the main problem is when i try to get the land to match the trackwork.I usually do this by pressing the "Y" key. Sometimes this doesn't work.Im trying to put a road bridge under my railway and can't get the land to go down to the road depth.can anyone help.
thanks jagger

Place a piece of road and then Y. If the land does not go down far enough, it is probably trying to go down below the minimum height set for the tile. Select the tile properties and reduce the minimum. You will probably need to move individual vertices separately to tidy up. Move the mouse off into the distance to see if the track gets covered when the scenery is optimised. You may need to adjust a couple of vertices some way away from the tracks to remove this.

If the cutting width is too narrow it doesn't always cut the land right - I read somewhere that 8m is about the minimum dimension that will stick anywhere in terrain modification. When I am roadbridge crossing a track I tend to use a 50m road piece over the top with a couple 10m either side to fine tune the land shape around the ends of the bridge as it gies over the track.

Ianm42 has probably got it right, however full procedure is as follows:-
1) In RE select a surface object by left clicking, and then note its height in the 'object' box.
2) Press 'F7' and select a square within the problem tile by left clicking (will then get a red border)
3) Right click and check that your intended object(s) lie within the max / min heights for that tile.... adjust if necc.
The 'toggle' for camera moving above / below ground (white-out) is the '/' key.
If this fails, then suggest that a re-install of MSTS maybe your only option.
Cheers,
TC
