hi
just wondering with speed posts... when i place a speed post does the speed apply to the track with the funny coloured box on or does it apply to all the tracks that the red line goes accross???
you see i want different speeds for different lines.
hope you can understand this

Hello.
Tim Court's Mideast Has the Speed Post's on Four Running Line's, So it is possible.
I think You have to Place them Close to the Line So the Red Line Only Crosses the Required Line.
This is One for Tim C though, I think.
I have Not Started Placing Speed Post's on my route yet, still beta.

Normally the speedpost applies to all lines at it's location.
The sim would get confused with two close markers - they'd show up together in the track monitor, and if one was slightly ahead of the other, you'd have a quick succession of speed limit changes over all the tracks.
If it's purely for looks, create a speed sign as an object for one of the lines, and place a real speedpost marker for the other.
If you experiment you may still get it to work as you wish.
MSTS suggests it does allow for different speed limits for passenger traffic and freight (at least the texture files do) but have never seen this implemented. Maybe it was intended, but didn't get incorporated.

When you place speedposts initially the red line will span all tracks in range. To enable the speedpost to only apply to one track you place the speedpost, press F3, hold the ctrl key and drag the post to the side and up or down to create an angle to the coloured box. Pic shows what I mean.

Hope that helps.
