failed to find crossing.sms

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Hello Daniel.

The File you are having problem's with should be found in one of the Default route's.

Usually in Europe1, Under the sound's directory.

If you copy that file to the Route you're having problem's with it should solve it. :)
Also If you then Get the Ingame.sms problem, the file can be found in the same place. :)

For some reason Msts searches for these two file's on each and every route.

As Alan says, the crossing.sms is the default level crossing sound file. The name of this file is listed in the route's .trk file - you can change it, and I think if there are no crossings it should be OK to delete that line. There are also lines there listing signal.sms and various other sounds like the default sounds for water towers.

The ingame.sms file must exist in the sound folder for each route, it includes noises such as the crash at the end of your route when you run off the track :-)

I'm not arguing (just explaining why I'm right).

Don't forget to copy any .wav (sound) files that the .sms file refers to (open in it Wordpad) into your route's sounds directory too!
