Fictional South East Thread

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Bump!

Been sometime since the last update, but I have added the line from Canterbury to Buckland Junction and the diverging line to Minster Junctions.

The snaking steeply graded route after the junction was a tough job (not 100% accurate of course) and linking up with the track I already have at Minster was a pain! But it is done!

I had a decent break from RE and started the year off by cracking on with Dollands Moor, which I decided to build as per quail layout, which was a right old mission but I enjoyed a challenge as I learnt a few things out of it.

Now one thing that may disappoint you is the CTRL breaks away and comes close to the local lines and breaks away again, and was told it might cause bad comments. I am leaving it as it is though as I am using it to learn RE as I go along, but after all it is semi fictional, it's not a commercial route and am building it as I want, not to other peoples specifications!

If you don't like it, don't use it, simples 8)

Track map so far:

Dollands Moor:

I am just working on Cheriton now. I have asked frank if I could use his objects from The Tunnel route, but has said it's best to lay the track and he would kindly rebuild the objects to suit the UKFS track, as Cheriton station would not really fit the UKFS track.

Cheers,

James.

Last i heard, James had pretty much given up on it.

I'm sure he'll clarify sooner or later, unfortunately i'm not at home to ask him or spy him working on it!
Kindest regards,
Simon.

That would be a shame as the other Kent project, London to Ramsgate, has also been put on ice

I believe DEE's version covers both Tonbridge and Tunbridge. Although i'm prepped to be corrected.

Hi
Have tried without sucsess to copy the map over, but as Dee says it basically covers from about halfway between Hildenborough and Tonbridge to Dover Priory via Ashford and includes the Folkestone harbour branch.
Tunbridge Wells is on the Hastings line which is not included.
Cheers
Andy

"This map shows Kent lines in 1950. The main route being modelled is Tonbridge to Dover Marine which was a Golden Arrow route, and also the Folkestone Harbour Branch. Additional short stretches of adjoining lines(max about 5 miles) are being added to allow for activity interest, but may be extended further in the future.
These include the lines from Tonbridge towards London, Redhill and Hastings; the lines from Paddock Wood towards Maidstone and Hawkhurst; the lines from Ashford towards Maidstone and Canterbury: and the lines from Dover to Dover Priory.
