SCOTTISH CENTRAL GETS THE GREEN LIGHT.

The MSTS 1 Route Editor can be a beast to use, but it's capable of some amazing results, here you can talk with the wizards that are building some of the fantastic routes available and learn how to make your own.

Excuse my ignorance here but how do Mini Routes work? :o

Can the route be used with the Editor?

Hi John,

It is an chopped down MSTS installation that works outside and indipendant of the main installation.

The big advantage in installing the route this way is any activity will only call what it needs. It has been found that the sim runs more stable with possible better frame rates.

When the mini-route is installed, it will call on your main installation for some default route files. This is why the default routes must still be installed before you start the mini-route installation.

With a route the size of SCP, I think it is needed.

Especially if we upload and add the amount of new locos we have in mind.

Perhaps even Caley and North British Ones for those who want to go real period.

It's been a while since I posted on here because I sadly lost my wife just after the New Year. She had a stroke just before Christmas and due to her other complications as a type 1 diabetic, she contacted a virus whilst in hospital and from this she never recovered. I am slowly getting over her loss and hope to get back to normal again soon.

On a much lighter note, Scottish Central Plus is now finally available and I would just like to thank all those concerned in making this happen. It has been a long time in the making and I hope that those of you who purchase a copy of the DVD will enjoy what this route has to offer. Please feel free to make more activities for this route if you feel that you can do some for it, but please stick to the stock which comes with the route which will avoid any additional items to be downloaded. Some of you may want to do a modern image activity for this route, but this will mean having to download extra items of stock from what is available for download. But whatever you decide, I hope that you will enjoy running this route. Whether it will be expanded on is not certain as of yet, but there are plety of route miles to keep you busy for a long time yet, before adding any more to this route, if it should happen in the future.
Hi Geoff.
Sorry to hear of your loss i know just how you feel it happend to me last year and i am still not over it by a long way good luck mate.

I am very sorry to hear your news. Everything is ticking over nicely and there's a bomb shell like that. You need your own time now and should take as much as you can. Every turn will be memories with well wishers doing/saying their best. I hope you can pull through and we will see you back when you are ready.

Best whishes.

Hi John,

Assuming that SCP mini route is installed in the default Drive "C"

If your MSTS Editor shortcut is on your desktop, copy and re-paste it onto your desktop.

open properties and copy the line below

"C:\scp_MiniRoute\Train Simulator"

and paste it into the "Start In" box

and it should direct that editor shortcut to SCP

With respect to Mini Routes this tutorial is well worth reading.

http://msts.steam4me.net/Route_Riter/rr_mini_route.html

I know it doesn't quite relate to the question vis-a-vis RE but it may help someone.

Try as I might, I have loaded the mini route and followed the instructions from the left hand side of the UKTrainsim opening page. It seems that when I choose activate an activity and click on the button, I get a message Error in Get Act Details - Path not found Processing

Hi Geoff,

Please accept my condolences as well.

Have placed my order and should hopefully receive it tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the full extent of the new route compared to Kerr's original.
