Trackwork via Benhar to Glasgow Central is included in the original Scottish Central so you should be able to run the one o'clock from Shotts.

This was a favourite of mine as it was often a rare English Corry or Lizzie.
Polmadie used it to flush out the the limescale in the locos that arrived on the overnight sleepers.

Those were the days my friend.

Hi There,

I suspect Glasgow Central via Shotts is out of the question...

Cambuslang ,Shott & Kirknewton is aready laid to Haymarket, It is just the final bit from Slateford to Princes Street that has to be laid.

I need somewhere to run my Lizzies plus other ex-LMS Locos into other than Waverley

Luckily, we have just managed to include Princess St for the SCP, as our route is set between the mid fifties to the end of the sixties. Now sadly gone, it can still be used again in MSTS. :D :D :D

Geoff,
it's actually Princes Street named after King George III's sons, The Duke of Rothesay, later to become King George IV and Frederick, Duke of York.
Not Princess Street named after some Jessie.

Absolutely! I view MSTS as a time and place travel machine. One way in which we can capture a little bit of bygone times.

Hmm yes, from earlier days it could turn up any express locomotive. Also in LMS days there were some elderly dining cars used on those services ex LNWR or WCJS.

I shall be looking forward to it.

Thank you for the correction Chris. I must be the Jessie

Mick it would be nice if we could model the station as it is in those photo's you posted in that link. But we will have to make do with the same overall canopy as we used for Glassgow Queen St, once Don has laid out the trackwork and platforms. It will have to be straight too, instead of curved, as we havent got a curved roof canopy. But we will see what we can do. At least we will have another large terminous.

EDINBURGH Princes St

Well, we finally have Edinburgh Princes St Station in the route. Don has laid it all out ready for me to add the scenery which I have been doing for the past 3 hours.
There is still some more to do yet, such as adding passengers to the platforms and generally bringing it to life. We havent got the Caledonian Hotel, but I think I have done the best I can to furnish the front of the station with what buildings we have available.
Here are a few screen shots of the work so far. Starting with the bare essentials which Don did last week. We have been informed, that the existing line in the route coming up from Slateford to Haymarket was not in place during the period we are working on. This was built later when Princes St Station closed, so Don is going to take this link out after the next update and put in another line that was used during the steam period.

Anyway, all will be revealed once the alterations have been done, meanwhile cast your eyes on the latest addition to the SCP. Princes St Station. Note also that one of our Coronations has been used for the screen shots and this is City Of Birmingham, built by Mickrik, which is one of six for this route. I think you will agree, Mick has done a fantastic job of this loco and it runs brilliant too.

Now with the scenery added.

Hi John,

Thanks for the kind remarks

I must stress at this point, the version in the screenshot is the test sample, and will not be the final version.

I am in the process of throwing some buckets of grime over her :D

Thanks for the screenshots, it's interesting to see how the bare wasteland has been transformed. Adding in this station has been a great idea, especially now that we can see how it's going to look, and the prospect of LMS activities to and from here is a real bonus to an already outstanding new route. Mick's made a great job of the Coronations too, they really look the part in this setting.

Very nice.
Did Stanier pacifics ever work into Princes Street? I can only remember from my youth, Black Fives being the biggest passenger engines.

Yes they did. I seem to remember reading that this was a favourite "running in" turn after overhaul.
