Here is Class56 006 at Cinderford
I was fortunate to be allowed in the cab of 006 at the Crewe Works Open Day in 2005
It was quite funny grabbing hold of the hand rails whilst holding my walking stick
At one point I was virtually kneeling in the door way and the driver had a beaming grin on his face...lol
Kind regards Stephen

Hi Stephen
Yes that is an impressive 'preserved?' loco.
Not sure who still owns it ?

Cheers

Hello Jon
The Class 56's are brilliant locomotives and look impressive on heavy freight trains
They make an interesting sight on passenger duties as well
I first saw a Class 56 at Guide Bridge in Manchester back in 1982.
Kind regards Stephen

Hi Stephen
They certainly are.
I saw my first pair, when 56024/25 were dumped in the Holmes yard on a weekend in July 1976.
On their way from Harwich to Doncaster.
I think I was later impressed most, while living in Warminster ( 1987-1991), and they worked the heavy stone trains up the bank. :o

Cheers
Jon

Blooming heck Jon....1976 ...33 Years ago ....doesn't time fly?
It seems like a different era now?
So much has changed in the world of Railways and back then you could happily watch the trains going by
Nowadays this can be problematic....because you may be challenged by railway staff and asked not to take photos etc
Kind regards Stephen
Ps Daves photo of 006 looks very nice indeed.....Well done

I hope the loco is hauling those default Mk1s to Barry scrapyard - the best place for them.
