Hi, Not sure if the headcode is technically correct but this is anothet act from an activty pack for ECE, you are driving a GBrf class 66/7, 66706 on a Intermodal service from Ipswich Yard to Leeds Freightliner on a very wet day, the wagons are ex freightliner (for those of you with a keen eye will notice they are green).

Some nice shots there Stuart! The 'spots' of rain on the 'camera' give it all just a little bit more of a 'feel'. :P And i can tell you...

Most freightliners are either class 4 or 6. Class 4 = 75mph. Class 6 = 60mph.

This particular frightliner can run at 75mph, as the class 66 on the front is cleared for 75mph running. :) From what i can see, it's only the class 66/6 which are cleared for 65mph running.

'M' is correct as you'd be coming from Ipswich (Eastern Region ('E')) to Leeds (Midland Region ('M')).

Also you could add that the GBRf 66 is on hire to Freightliner for cover? Just an idea :D That way the freightliner FSA FTAs wont be not right

What stock will be required to run this activity?

Sorry chaps, but as the train is coming off the ertswhile Anglia region ('L'), and onto the Eastern Region, the headcode in this case would be 4E27. However (and someone please correct me if this does not now apply), class 4 trains were numbered as per specifc blocks, to denote the nature of the service. Some parcels services were class 4 and were in the (for example) 4E00 - 4E29 range, block freight and some 'top link' speedlink services would be numbered 4E30 - 4E49, freightliner services therefore had 4E50 - 4E99 all to themselves. Exceptions were made on a local basis, where trains on a route were numbered in sequence (Southend line for example, up trains eg. ...2K91, 2K93, 4K95 (my GE act), 2K97, 2K99..... .

So (sorry about war and peace) to be bang on correct, the service in your act would be somewhere in the 4E50 to 4E99 range. Hope this helps :)

Was going to say it would be E, Like NXEC services are 'E' to Newcastle/Leeds (IIRC)

Good shots though, like the camera effects, if only MSTS could do such!!

Hi all
Thanks for the comments, I have tried reserching headcodes but have never found a definitive answer, any sites you know of that give detailed listings of headcodes would be greatfully recived, as for the stock required, as its going to be a activity pack containing about 10-15 activitys then it is quite large (the price of realism), however I am getting Thames Mersey this week so may see if there is stock from that I can use,
Cheers Stuart :D :D :D

try the FMi forums they are top dog for Headcodes as they are at present. you could get away with 4N also i dont think many freight companies bother to check really much as during the day there is always more than one service using the same code ie 6M75-1 and 6M75-2 neither go the same way.
