In the summer of 1980! there were some problems with dmus- on the Bedford-Banbury merton street services,so loco hauled replacements were used!! :D :D(well as far as olney on the smjr route!)

Nice shot ...although this Summer is obviously "The exception that proves the rule"? :wink:

Over on TS.com they have a "rule" (seldom enforced :( ) that all screenshots should (and lets say where possible here?) contain the route and stock used.

This isn't out of any copyright/credit/legal point of view (before the "barrack room lawyers" kick off...), it's just so that fellow simmers can look at a shot and IF they like what they see ...know where to get it.

Seems a good idea to me? what do you think?

BTW just in passing... Some of you here might not appreciate the US content in this thread? In case that's so I'd point out that, unlike the UK, much of the rest of the World has had (still has) far more Diesel Locomotive hauled trains than we do now. Further more most started on that track before we did and still use them more than we do today.

Keep up the good work Claus (..in case you missed it he's from Denmark) and anyone else who looks further than the UK?

Discuss! ...as exam papers used to say... :lol:

In 2011, Tata Steel-liveried 60099 leads 6J57, the 18:16 Aldwarke-Stocksbridge through Oughty Bridge, Wharncliffe Wood and down to Stocksbridge Exchange Sidings:

Here we have GBRF Class 66 66712 running through Winchester on a cold foggy morning with 3 scrap SWT class 421s in tow :(
