This route was before me time - no nothing about it... but WOW does it look good - stunning.

Not strictly true Ali, as you will discover when the route is available, there's still bits of the route there today.
Barmouth across the Mawddach estuary.
Bala lake railway runs for most of the way along the old trackbed.
Llangollen to Carrog railway.
To name but a few.
Blaenau Ffestiniog to Trawsfynydd power station railhead was until a few years ago active with nuclear flasks traffic and the occasional excursion.
