I have just received my CD of this from Vern's site and although I've only been driving for ½hr I was so impressed I wanted to share some screenshots.

The are all 1024x768, so I've posted as thumbnails to those without broadband have a chance of reading this thread - click on a thumbnail for full-size picture.

Just look at that water!

OK, some pics of Glenfinnan station, where I am currently waiting for a train coming the other way - the line is single-track you see.

Hi Alan,

I got the CD from Vern last week, and can not get over the Scottish look/feel of this route, it is much better than his earlier Wick/Inverness route, which he tells me he is now hoping to upgrade to the same standard. I am really looking forward to that.

This route has some really decent grades in it, makes a change from the ECML which runs through the virtual flat lands of Lincolnshire (no disrespect to Tim's excellent route). Now you really have to work out how to get a steam engine to pull up the grades.

Yeah I've got this...very scenic too...only one (sorry two) small downers...

Default signals and Japanese level crossings which I have since changed on the hole though a very welcome Scottish addition.

Thanks for the kind comments folks!

Ref the signals and level crossings, er yes I know and will hopefully be fixed for V.2. I didn't want to screw up the tdb by using junction signals etc. at this stage. Ideally, although not correct for the period, I would love to have a crack at RETB signalling, but not a clue how to script it and I don't think the current version of MTS would support it. Unless you have a long section token you always have to "ask" for permission to proceed at the stop board whereas MTS works by looking ahead and will always have the "signal" even if it's a stop board clear if the line ahead is not occupied (and on the odd occasion if it is too!).

I'll get my dad onto that as he has been on this route on the footplate of a K1 as part of the support crew (I'm hoping to go up next year :))
