Really nice, Jon. I love shots of a train emerging from a mist.

Had me wondering what it was at first.
Wouldn't an Engish Electric loco have been painted like a Deltic with a lime green strip along the bottom and white cab windows?

As far as I know, none of the class 50s wore two tone green in service. Not something I know a lot about, but I believe they missed the BR green era completely (with the exception of the prototype DP2) and D444 has only worn that livery in preservation.

Hi All,
I was working in Reading in 1984/1985 and saw almost all the Class 50s. I think the only one which carried green livery at that time was 'Sir Edward Elgar' in commemoration of some anniversary. I'm not sure of the number, but may have been 50007; perhaps someone with greater knowledge will confirm or disagree.
Cheers,
Ged

Hi
Thanks Danny and everyone.
Yes D444 has carried this livery since April 2002, only 50007 carried GWR green.
All the class from D400 onwards were delivered in BR Blue.

Just like the real thing Jon - just need a bit more fog around the Welsh bits and around 400 punters and you're spot on

Pretty much Jon although the rake will probably be split soon enough.
It's used as a staff/steward coach.

Excellent Jon. Any chance of making this into an activity?
