The East Anglian

An activity I've been working on for the last two weeks, it is now in the final testing stages, first I'll give some info about the activity, and following on from that there will be a few screenshots, of which more are to come later...

Description:
Take the driver's seat on Pathfinder's "The East Anglian" railtour. You take charge of Large Logo Blue 40145 from the North London Line connection at Stratford as far as the beginning of the Lowestoft Branch just outside Ipswich. You are running on time as you approach Stratford, and your booked arrival time for Ipswich is 11:49. This activity is timetabled to the exact timings of the real tour. You will encounter a lot of Al traffic, all of which has been made up, but I have used my knowledge of the line to add realism to the kind of services you will pass en-route. You will even see the shark van at Shenfield, 47813 at Colchester and 47370 at Ipswich; if that isn't real enough then I don't know what is!

Briefing:
Motive Traction: 40145
Railtour Name: The East Anglian
Railtour Operator: Pathfinder Tours
Date: 12th April 2008

You are just branching off the North London Line on the approach to Stratford, here you will be routed through Platform 10a, but you will have to wait for a Harwich service to run ahead of you before you are given the signal to proceed onto the mainline. Make sure your lights are on. You may encounter some yellow aspects en-route as you will be following the Harwich service as far as Colchester. Your top speed is 90mph. You are booked to arrive at Ipswich at 11:49, however you should arrive earlier than that. Don't forget there are plenty of Rail Enthusiasts about eagerly awaiting their chance to take a photo of this historic event so when you pass through stations you might want to give a toot of the horn and some thrash, if possible, just to make sure they're awake! Enjoy your run.

Screenshots:

40145 is routed through platform 10a, and is brought to a stop awaiting the signal to change so she can proceed.

Yes, looks top notch, I remember seeing this railtour at Ipswich, and Brundall on it's way back. Very good!

As do I: http://37427.fotopic.net/c1492183.html

Cheers for the comments chaps; rest of the screenies will be up soon. :D

EDIT: I have slightly edited the eng file of 40145 so that you can have your head out on either side of the train! 8)

Key "1" then "up" gives left side.
Key "5" gives right side.

40145 is given the signal for the Lowestoft branch.

40145 whistles out of Ipswich crossing all lines to get on to the Lowestoft line.

The activity just needs some last minute editing now, hoping to upload tonight, if not then it won't be up until Sunday as I'm away...

I've just discovered a problem, I renamed the file folders for 47370 and 47818 so that I could find them easier, this means I'll have to re-upload them before I can upload the activity otherwise it will be saying the the eng file is missing! Damn.

Try not to panic if you have both 47818 and 47370 already installed though, just rename the folder in the trainset folder to "LS_47370_Scrap" and "LS_47818_one", you will then need to edit any consist you created to include "LS_" before the folder name. For example:

Code: Select all

WagonData ( 47370_Scrap LS_47370_Scrap )

I haven't downloaded 47370 & 818 yet. So should I just wait for you to re-upload them tonight?
