Post by davidaward »

Some of you may or may not be aware of the Ravenglass and Eskdale project that I have been working on, so here are a few pictures now we have some work to show............

We join Shelagh of Eskdale in the headshunt at Ravenglass. stock is by Tim Elsby for the route.

And we pull forwards into the station

We set out past the shed

Running across Barrow Marsh

And through Muncaster Mill

Entering Miteside Loop.

Just need some passangers in them now

Quick critisism (no offence), the trackwork at Ravenglass on the main tracks looks to far apart, and the track distance between the sidings and platform No3 looked way to close together.

But apart from that, very good work :D

I think the track spacings at Ravenglass will look better when the buildings are inplace, remember 2x scale platforms and canopies have to go in there! Also if the tracks are too close together with UKNG track, loose consists have a tendancy to jump to ajacent lines in creating activities. Plus remember there is no middle road in Ravenglass station any more.

A few more pics for you,

River Esk takes a train north from Irton Road...........

Image

Pulling out of Irton Road

Image

Speeding downgrade to Yocking How

Image

Rolling over the Green Crossing

Image

Image

Attacking Hollin How bank

Image

Top of the Bank and a nice view of the King George (good pub by the way!!!!)

Image

Rolling into Fisherground Loop- yep i know the points are the wrong way round- but again it works much smoother for passing trains like this in the sim.

Simple- they won't turn!!

Activites will start and end at each end of the line, as if your loco has been turned during your tea break!

Major building work around Ravenglass in progress...............

Work is coming along at a good pace now that I'm getting to grips with modelling, once Ravenglass is complete the parts in between there and Eskdale are sparsely populated so will be easier to model.
