No worries..........I've just been enjoying myself all week (off work with flu).........the more times I drive your masterpiece the better it looks...certainly the level of detail is unsurpassed and the four wheels all in motion...fantastic.
DaveM keeps telling me to drive faster.... but it looks so good just creaping along.

Is it just me Jon, or do you need to tweak the positioning of the lights on the #13 & #58?

Re: Mean and Moody
Hi
I've thought about Dave's comment........and I think maybe its because they are aliased to the 'ulitmate whistler sounds', rather than the ELR sounds, as they will be freeware by Tim.
Cheers

Re: Mean and Moody

Re: Mean and Moody
Looking into it far too deeply Jon, besides theres barely any difference between the 2 soundsets - in fact I think only the horn sounds were changed. My quibble is based purely on the fact that you don't have the throttle fully open (IE 100%) on most of your shots....as thats where I prefer a 40's power handle to be!jbilton wrote:Hi

That would be where our experience of the prototypes differ.
I got used to in my youth seeing them gently lumbering through Guide Bridge, or gently whistling to themselves at idle on Longsight and Newton Heath.
However one of my favourite spotting areas was on the Highline in Lincoln, used to get right up under the bridge over the Witham .
A forty would come working hard up the grade, but shut off just before the bridge, thunder over it, and then just gently whistle away into the distance to Skew Bridge ...... pure music to my ears.
If the driver caught sight of your head, you'd get a good blast on that eerie horn and a wave.
Of course memories become rose tinted as years go by, spent many hours there getting wet, seeing nothing much.
Mind you having said that a forty on the London-KX keeping 47 times is pretty impressive, and plenty of thrash from the stop a Lincon StM..
Cheers

Re: Mean and Moody
I remember the days cycling 9 miles to Mistley during the school holidays to see the Mossend/Bathgate to Parkeston freight, great when the 40's did turn up bloody gutted when a 37 rounded the bend from Manningtree North Junction. I remember seeing 40174 then 40128 within an hour at Ipswich and 40013 light engine at Mistley on the off chance, which of course my mate and I cabbed!!!
I love the ability to change the discs, Tim has done a great model here, the texturing brings out the best in it.

Re: Mean and Moody
Indeed! I've only had 'em in preservation, where the start/stop factor is more present (apart from 40145 on't mainline) and drivers who play to the crowd. Just a tad different from your experiences!jbilton wrote:Hi Daverwaceyw wrote:Looking into it far too deeply Jon, besides theres barely any difference between the 2 soundsets - in fact I think only the horn sounds were changed.
