Hi
Thanks
Its actually summer rain, off one of my Russian routes (I think)..........but then I turn the rain off.
I've had a look at that website , but didn't want to copy Owens shot too closely, as I believe they are copyrighted.
Unfortunately all my books are still in boxes........not sure when BR started using High Intensive headlights.....but I think Class 87s were the first in 1973 ?
Wasn't sure about the number either, certainly Class 51 was set aside for a Deltic Class.(then again Westerns were given 52 but never re-number)
Always thought this EE project was from around 1970/71,when it was deemed Kestrel was too heavy.
Any additional information would be appreciated.
Cheers
Jon

Theres a few pages devoted to this in 'The Deltics - A Symposium' which seem very definitive on the loco's 'history' and include a scale drawing. I'll get them scanned for you tomorrow....its a tad late now! Cracking reading though, although it dates it at mid 1960s rather than 70s.
In the drawings (dated 1966!) the headlight is as per Owens picture. The jumper cable and reversing lights are also lower. Anyway i'll scan it as said to give you a better idea.

I fear you may have sent them to my old email address, which unfortunately I cannot collect from.
I think the buttons on the forums profile, should give the new address....sorry.
