Eastville Locomotive Company

Post by OdneyManor »

Me and my brother have started up our own completely fictional virtual loco company, which brings locos back from the scrapyard.
The company, which was formed in 2001, currently has 4 locos, all of which are in working order.

Our first loco is BR 15xx 0-6-0 No. 1504, which is based on the Swanage Railway until the end of the year.
Image

The second loco, LMS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No. 6404, was the company's first loco to go on the mainline, and is based on the WSR for the summer.
Image

Third is our mainline loco, BR 7P Britannia 4-6-2 No. 70046 'Anzac', which was restored to mainline condition in 2005.
Image

Our latest loco is GWR Star Class 4-6-0 No. 4021 'King Edward'. Restoration was completed at the end of 2006, and she is now based on the Severn Valley Railway. Plans are to get her on the mainline this year.

The company is now restoring a Southern Railway Schools Class and a BR Standard 4 Tank

Hi
Excellent screenshots (although they'll probably be re-sized by a moderator)
Swanage shots look brilliant, WSR never looks real enough for me.
You've even made 70046 look reasonably presentable (wheels still look like Hornby Tinplate though).
Why not ask Paul Mitchell permission to re-skin his Britannia model, its a better model.
Cheers
Jon

Nice one - might have to ask nicely for a cab ride in your 15xx :D

I believe 34010 and 34070 are still awaiting restoration at Herston, near Swanage...they could do better here I'm sure.

Update on the locos.

1504 is still working at Swanage, and will be running at the Swanage Summer Steam Gala.

Ivatt 2-6-0 No. 6404 is running at the West Somerset Railway for the summer, and was seen two days ago on a service train to Minehead.

70046 has been at Crewe for repainting and some minor work, and will soon be hauling mainline tours again.

As for our GWR Star, well she was chosen to pull a special 'Stately & Steam' train, with Bradley Manor piloting.

The company has decided to purchase a SR Schools class, and is on the lookout for spare parts.

Some shots from the Swanage Summer Steam Gala, which our 15xx tank is taking part in, so far she's only been in the bay platform for footplate visits though.

Would've been more shots but I've been preparing 1504, so these shots are from lineside photographers.

1504 is rostered for a goods run up to Norden later, and will be doing passenger trains tomorrow.

Now off to have something to eat at Swanage's buffet, then back to 1504, will post more shots later. :D

Shots of 1504 on her goods run up to Norden. She ran well, and is now going to run the goods train for the rest of the day. :D

I've now finished my turn on 1504, and will be taking shots of the locos around Swanage.

Having finished on 1504, I hung around Swanage to help on the other locos, ended up keeping an eye on 80184 as she stood in the bay platform.
Meanwhile 6695 and 30053 double headed a train from Norden down to Swanage.

All 85 shots from the gala are here:

And that's all, no more events involving the company's locos till July with the Star Class in action at the SVR summer gala.
