One thought came to mind during the activity. Why would a Class 66 be used as a rescue loco. Surely Network Rail would be unhappy with one of those chucking out fumes under the roof at Liverpool St. There were 4 electrics sitting in the stabling yard at Ipswich to choose from as well.

Class 47s are the usual GEML thunderbird locos
