170204 ONE Anglia...

Post by jamiebowey87 »

Nearing completion...

Its still WIP - I want to try add a bit more roof detail, I need to add first class branding, tweak the .eng file for the lights and a few other things - I think the windows need to be darkened a bit as well perhaps? Its in the light blue version of the livery (when the 86s and Mk2s and the random mix of Ex-VT stock was still about!), Ill try get a later version of the darker grey/blue done also.

If anyone has any feedback at all please let me know! After spending so long looking at a peice of stock you cant see trees for the wood!

A massive thanks must go to Jonothan Powell for creating this brilliant model, Anton C-M for all his advice his given me, Kerr McIntosh for the fantastic interiors and Mark Wiles for his original Anglia textures and light clusters, windscreen etc Ive used, and for all 4 giving me permission to butcher their work!

Looking very nice, although I have to admit the dark blue version of the livery as the screenshot is now is perfect.

Nice one Jamie (despite your unhealthy obsession with that livery!)

The only comment I would make is that the one logos seem slightly distorted horizontally, though I have never seen one up close so could be how they are!

Cheers guys! Glas Im showing you the light in modern railway liveries! Just like the old BR large logo livery, hated at first, became immortal! As for the lights, Ive sent the front textures off to Anton for attention - hes very kindly offered to have a bash at getting them how they should be! Should have everything sorted in the next week or two hopefully along with somthing else im cooking...

Heres 170270 in the older dark blue, I thought this was the newer version of the livery but found out otherwise! This one is just a two car unit and has Anton's handywork on full display! 170204 is in a similar condition, just a few tweaks now. I cant find any photos of a 170 with external first class markings? Do they not have them? Ill have to nip up Stratford tommorow and have a look!

Yes, they do, they have a very narrow, small yellow line above the windows, as shown here, but this pic is of 170270, which is the only 170/27x to be in the One colours, and they are all 2 car sets. You have modelled 170204, a 3 car set, but I don't think they have the yellow stripe, so its up to you really.

Just found this pic, http://rtranmer.fotopic.net/p33818700.html of 170203 at London, which is a 3 car set, and does have the yellow stripe.

Tom

P.S./EDIT: 170201 has it too! http://rtranmer.fotopic.net/p33818737.html
as does 170205! http://rtranmer.fotopic.net/p33818761.html
