Back on the video camera again :D
Hi Joe

I'm trying to do videos using the freeware Cam Studio program. How do you make it stop flickering during playback?

I don't get any flickering with fraps, not since I got my new pc, used to get it on my old pc though, which had less memory on it, and frame rates plummeted. How much RAM does your pc have? You might need more.
Mines got 1GB and I get frame rates between 15 and 20 with fraps recording at 1024 x 768.

I know nothing about this sort of thing, but our system information says there's 256MB of RAM.

256MB of RAM isn't erally enough for videos, which is probably why it's flickering, so you can either upgrade your RAM, or lower your MSTS settings and see if you still get flickering.

Nice one :D

Maybe greyscale and / or softening can also give the right effect, like on this one of 92214.

I did both on this shot in PSP8, then used the 'sharpen more' option to help the details show up again.

For more control over greyscale, try splitting the channels into RGB.

Adjust the brightness and contrast using curves and sharpen if needed.
Then recombine them and greyscale.

Some nice shots there :D Bala Hub looks like a great route.

Here are a few more Liskeard shots with a Dean Goods - not very appropriate for Cornwall (or for the crew in these conditions), but a last minute replacement for the Aberdare, which didn't work with MSTSbin.
