they worked the Aire Valley route in West Yorkshire before these came along:

I think Slam door trains were Better had the feel of an adventure starting hear a door slam shut rather than the swishhhhh of door closure now days

Have to Agree Here in NI the Best Trains for Comfort are still the 32 year old Slam Door 80 Class Sadly only two sets remain in traction
