Is it better than the BATS 08 though?

Hard to decide!

That looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to my copy arriving, (hears the sound of the letterbox, runs downstairs!)

Hooray! It's here :D :D :D

Looks very good.
Little note, the real 08833, in the early 1980's used to be the shunter at Basingstoke Yard, and I have driven it :wink:

But now it's dressed the way a proper engine should be :)

Seriously - it looks a gorgeous model. I'm pleased to see it. All it needs now is for me to get my shiny new GER installed and go play with it....

It's a long time since I've been to the Street, so I wasn't aware that Richard Hardy's tradition of painting the pilot in Great Eastern Railway colours had continued into modern times;
Slightly off-topic, I know, but wouldn't it be nice if the NRM released the two restored ex-GER locos (J69 and E4) for loan service sometime? I know all the glamour is in the big express engines, but these two would be ideally suited for loans to preseved lines, and it'd be lovely to see some Royal Blue in steam again instead of a continous diet of various shades of black, green and red....

I'd forgotten that it was an old EH one....

Now like to see a skin of 08531 in green - the long time LSt pilot in the 1970s.... another classic SF paint job
