Hi Everyone

As of this coming Tuesday, I will have all the trackwork completed for the Rattlesnake Pass route except for the 2 yards on the end of each route. I have scenery on the route for about 2 miles of the 60 or so miles that this route is going to be which the scenery already placed on the route was helped out by a friend of mine. There are 3 towns on this route. Two small towns and one big town. There are 17 bridges on this route all together. There are no tunnels on this route and it features a big "S" curve in one area of the route.

As for the release date on this route. It will be sometime in 2007. I am probably looking at 6 to 9 months of work in front of me or maybe more which will start in about 2 weeks as I am going to take some time off from working on the route. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I have left options open for a version 2 of this route, But that wont be determined until version 1 of this route is released.

Now, Onto some of the shots that I would like to share with you at this time. Please note that some shots are from the area with the scenery and some arent. Hope you enjoy the shots.

Is that 8 locos on the top picture? I wish we had trains like that in Britain

are the grads really steep and survire? as a couple of pics do look very steep i feel

Yes, That first pic had 8 locomotives. I was using a little too much power for that 78 car autorack train. Really didnt need all that power.

As for the grades, They arent that steep and there arent that many. If my memory serves me, There are only 2 grades on the whole 60 plus mile route going each direction.

Can you give us some more info on the line? Is it real, fictional etc? Also, is there any scope for passenger trains? The US stuff is great, but I like it so much more when I can get my Amtrak stuff out, as freight isn't really my thing.

Just one thing, is it me but, why do the trains seem to change from driving on the right to driving on the left ?

Some lines in the US are bi-directional, provided they are CTC-controlled. I actuall asked about this over at t-.com a while back, and got some very interesting information back. I can dig up a link to the thread if you want?

The route is a fantasy route that I am creating and I am sort of medeling this route with passenger trains in mind. This route looks real good if you just sit back in the observation car and ride the rails. There will be 3 stations along the 60 mile plus route. I am posting another shot for you guys to enjoy. This area has a horseshoe curve and it is in the Rattlesnake Lake area of the route. Please note, The Southern Pacific train behind me is a train going the oppisite direction of where I am going.
