Titfield Thunderbolt
Well 2 hours after starting this loco here is the latest progress. Since this photo was taken the loco has had its nameplates attached. I would appreciate any comments as all I have had to work from is an articla in a model railway magazine (no drawings or photos of the real thing).

I like it! It looks okay to me...nice to see another early item of rolling stock...be interesting to double head her with Rocket...
Romance! The season tickets mourn,
HE never ran to catch his train,
but passed with coach and guard and horn,
and left the local, late again!
Confound Romance, and all unseen,
Romance brought up the 9:15!
'The King' by Rudyard Kipling (1902)

I would like to see a double header of these two but it won't be right unless someone does a cabview for Lion. Who is going to do it?blackfour wrote:I like it! It looks okay to me...nice to see another early item of rolling stock...be interesting to double head her with Rocket...

Well its been about 24 hours since I started Thunderbolt and she is now almost complete as I have now made a (very primitive) tender and of course with a tender come the ability to pull a train.
As we lack the coach from the film the only suitable stock available is the GWR 4-wheeled coaches so 3 of these were added to make a typical late 19th century scene. Thunderbolt is due to enter the paint shop once the final few fittings are in place. Here is the photo I hope you like it.

Thanks Martin, it will help me loads. All I have to work from is a few photos of a model so this should help as well.

The picture is not accurate!
When the villagers let gi of the coach it hit Lions tender with such force it bent the running plate and broke the buffers, it is still like that!
This website should help;
http://mail.bris.ac.uk/~liserc/tit.html
And would you like my Aveling & Porter Steam Roller to go onto the Titfield Mega Pack, we can do the ramming as if the roller has automatic couplings, and 1401 has chain, the roller will simply bump away, if static only though, not as traffic!
I don't think we can really put a small dent into the tender (no matter how small it will add at least 8 polys that we don't need).MikeM7044T wrote: The picture is not accurate!

As for the steam roller re-enacment I don't think that will work as if you go at to fast a speed you will just cause the steam roller (and/or yourself) to derail ending the activity. Better re-think that 1 Mike.

Hey! I need a roller for the car spawner on my route! I would like the bus, some 60's cars and the steam roller. Oh and perhaps the lorry full of bricks to put at the side of the level crossing! I will include the scenery in the Mega pack, with the stock, route and some screenshots. Also, I will include a suprise actvitiy. I will only upload the actitiy if I have all of the stock made. The stock I will need is
Thunderbolt
The coach that is pulled by Thunderbolt
1401 locomotive
Brake van
The bar coach pulled by 1401

Titfield Thunderbolt is now out on DVD, in a triple set of Ealing Comedies with 'Hue and Cry' and 'Passport to Pimlico'. Some interesting views of trains in the background in the latter, and a scene with food parcels being thrown from an old 4Sub.
Another set of Ealing Comedies on DVD includes 'The Ladykillers', famous for its scenes on the Kings Cross approaches, but I have not managed to get hold of it yet
