Depends whats more expensive:
Pushing it off the end, Court case, Dockyard repairs, the possibility of loosing the diesel loco aswell.
or
Transporting it to a railroad to restore it.
I think with the escalating prices on the UK preservation societies i think given the choice now the SVR would have dunked the flying pig.

One in fact. That was never used. Not a lot of it either, was nearly directly hit by a German bomb. Boiler was no more after that.
