Hi

Where did this service run to/from? I remeber seeing photos of these trains in the railway press in the 60's but never saw it, although I did see members of this class at Manchester once or twice (the good old days) :(

The "Condor" ran from Hendon, North London, to Gushetfaulds Goods station in Glasgow and back. Unfortunately the reliability of the Co-Bos was pretty appalling and the train often ended up being hauled by one or two Black Fives. Eventually, when sufficient of what later became class 45 were available they took over.

That's correct matey the engines were stabled at 14A and worked
the Luton Moorgate Commuter trains as well, there were always 2 Black 5s
on standby in case of an early failure, 1st relief if I remember for the
14A men were at Carlisle :-?

Thanks for the info guys. I can't wait to see the last remaing member of the class returned to active service (evereyone blease look at the website to see how you can help)
