Adur Valley Line, 1964 (aka Steyning Route)

Post by yerkes »

Have put finishing touches to an activity based on the 1200 Horsham-Brighton run that comes packaged with this superb route.

Set in summer 1964, shortly after the introduction of DEMUs on the line. No doubt the purist will spot some anomalies but hey! it's only a game :)

It's a Sapphire ATI Radeon 9000 Pro, 128Mb, so nothing particularly special by today's standard. I confess however that I did a bit of editing in Picasa - sharpening, colour temp, fill light, etc.

What I especially like about this route is the scope for having a good mix of 3rd rail electric, steam and diesel.

Oh, and seeing the same people at every station (they move quick, don't they?).

But at least there is people.
Have you seen the little kid by a few of the foot crossings who is actually waving as you go past!

Hi
Its always personal preference, I like a few people....but there does seem to be too many IMO.
So I'll be thining them out a little at some time, also some are too modern looking....and I'm not keen on the ones really near the tracks at foot crosssings.....so they seem favourite for the cull.

I agree with that.

It's great to feel that you're not driving through ghost towns, so all credit to the author for adding them. But for my personal preference there are just a few too many.

The seagulls are a nice touch too.

It all adds to the realism - trying to make MSTS 'as real as it gets'!
