The route runs well on most computers. 20 FPS in this scene with all sliders maxed on a recent vintage computer. It also runs well on my slower 2GHz laptop if I back visibility down to 500m and turn off dynamic shadows.

The route is extremely cleverly built, it uses every trick in the book to get max detail in and max framerates out. I think every routebuilder should download this route and see what the author did and just copy him, then we can all have superb looking routes running at 25fps.

Kieranhardy, the images on the gallery page of my website are not screenshots ( unfortunately ). They were generated by exporting the MSTS models to PovRay ( http://www.povray.org ). The images here and elsewhere on the web site are all screen shots however.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

What's so impressive about this route is the telephone wires. They are perfect - not only do they look like real 3d wires (rather than some kind of alpha channel) but there are many of them and every one is a perfect fit to the insulators, even when the poles march up and down embankments and up over bridges etc. How the guy had the patience to lay 20+ miles of these I have no idea. Fantastic modelling and route building.

That route is very impressive :)

Has anybody else noticed how similar the water reflections in the POVRay renders are to the development shots from TMTS?

The Lost and Presumed Sunk :)

This is one quirky railway which I've read up on.

Not seen any screenshots until now.

Will have to download it as it's clearly a very well made route as has been said :)

hello,

thanks for the second post
Still amazing !
I'm also impressed ( among other things ) by the telephone wires which are not rectilinear ... and by the road edges, which are not straight.

A master piece !

I just keep thinging it's TRAINZ, because of all the detail that you don't find in many MSTS routes

I suggest anyone who questions the capability of MSTS's graphics to download this route and take a look.

Some locations look photorealistic, and as Martin has said, the attention to detail is fantastic....
