I think that's because none of the HST-operating TOCs have bothered to get a proper lot of artists in to do the paint-job - the colours have been alright in many cases, just not the application. There's always the multitude of little 'tweaks' which turn a livery from being alright into standing out. As for window surrounds - the black applied to Virgin's Pendolinos is probably the best model of breaking up the yellow warning panel in a stylish way.

'Banana' and IC were good liveries in their time, but their time has passed.

yellow was indeed part of virgins livery well on 43068 the very first power car of the very first virgin liveried train. the only reason the cab roof is black is because of the soot the exhausts threw over it, if it werent for the clag HST's has the HST's would have had a full yellow front.

'Challengers' were a proposal for 5-car HSTs refurbished to Voyager standards, re-engined and running some of the diagrams. The SRA put paid to that plan - although not before Virgin had cut its HSTs down to 5-car and 'sort-of' branded them 'Challengers'! Since then, all HSTs on Virgin Cross-Country have been hired in from other operators.

This was the original Challenger model for MSTS by myself done a good while ago now based on another HST (not sure which now )

I do still have the skins and did for a long while plan on updating it to Biffy's HST but I now have no need. Personally though I don't think it needs (or would have ever had) the large 'Challenger' or 'Buffet' branding on the side.

Are the textures 512 or 1024? they seem rather blocky.

Sorry, don't mean to critisise (spelling). It does look good. I do like the coaches (already released).
