Class 156 'one' Reskin

Post by nickuk »

Hey everyone!

I havent done a reskin for a while, so i thought i would start on a new one. Im still using Ben Laws 156, as its my favourite DMU and a very good model. I know the texture maps like the back of my hand! :P

Below is a screenshot of the unit so far, please tell me what you think. Ive only been working on it for a short while so detail has not been added yet ie. door buttons, lights, alpha transparency.

Ive been spending a long time getting the colours, and where they should be correct. As i want it be as accurate as possible, which is difficult because of the way Ben mapped the textures to this model at the end of each unit.

Many thanks,
nick

'one' did apply a lighter metalic grey/blue to their 156s but I believe they have decided to use the newer, more darker blue colour (as shown above). Looks good!

Looking very nice. Are you planning to weather the unit once its completed, like your previous 156 (shown below)?

No, im planning to leave it unweathered, as all the pictures i have seen on the 'one' 156 are all clean. They seem to wash them regularily.

Which tools do you use to get the weathering effect and in which program, as i use adobe photoshop 7 and cant seem to find anything that suits, so a point in the right direction would be appreciated :)

Even if they do wash them regually the underframe and roof around the exaust will never be clean. Why don't you try weathering those areas leaving the bodysides clean.

I always think a light weathering on the bodysides and a dark patch at the top of the exhausts looks good. I can't help thinking the front looks a bit, errrm, bare?
