It being the nearest station to my school I used it a few times but one has to ask .... why would you want to see it again? from 1990ish onwards all I remember of it was the 4 platforms ('V' style) with a bus stop shelter on each side to try and defend yourself from the rain (difficult as not one shelter had a bit of glass/fibreglass left in it.andyw823 wrote:What are the chances of re-creating miles platting station? its been delmolished for some time time but would be great to see it again!!
Newton Heath Station (just off this route Next station South from Miles Platting towards Ashton-under-Lyne) was just as bad.
Miles Platting is now just flat with no evidence that a station ever existed there and Newton Heath Station was just a big bush last time I passed through there.

Would it be That big bush just before the Depot. I have to say the leaves on it look like leaves off a cannibis plant.lumpchase wrote:

No. the big bush is actually 'Park Station' on Briscoe Lane in Newton Heath. it was closed at the same time as Miles Platting with all services running none stop to Ashton-U-Lyne on their way to Yorkshire (Huddersfield I think)
I suppose 'Newton Heath Station' would actually be Dean Lane as it is the nearest station to the depot even though it is in Moston not Newton Heath but lets not be pedantic.

Hi Gary & Jon
I have not heard of much progress for a while (since Aug 05) so I was wondering how things are progressing.
Being a Yorkshireman originally from Bradford with relatives in Manchester/Hebden Bridge/Leeds & Bradford this Route still brings back lots of wonderful memories.
Your screenshots so far are brilliant so I do hope you both have not abandoned your project.
Kindest Regards
Mike

Hi Mike
I'm afraid my involvement was very limited at a very early stage( and proberbly as a tester before release).
I know Gary is very busy at work ATM, and he likes things spot on before he'll release anything.
Cheers
