It fell off! Its still very much a work in progress, as there are a few problem areas. I might get Chris to alter the texturing slightly to stop things like the front of the tender buffer beam turning red etc

Now that is nice. This is why I like reskins; my skinning skills are not too great, and I always attack my locos with a can of polish and duraglit before sending 'em out into service. It's good to see people out there who arn't afraid of a bit of grime!

Just one point. Would that loco have buferbeam numbering in BR livery?

Fantastic work, BTW!

BR Steam Locos would not have buffer beam numbering. These were often applied by enthusiasts, or enthusiastic staff, for specials etc, in the latter days of steam. In my personal opinion, if you could tone down the buffer beam colour, to a dirty streaky brown, you'll have a winner! That applies to the tender too...

Best wishes, Bob.

Many loco's during the transition period (1948 - 1950) had their BR numbers painted in the old companies style on the bufferbeam.

This was an interim measure until the new livery and identification policy was implemented (and the smokebox numberplates cast).

This is true, a fact which I'd overlooked, however, this would not have normally happened with the 1957 British Railways logo.

Best wishes, Bob.

The bufferbeam hasn't been touched yet, apart from the numbering (which I will take off!) I have asked Chris to look into changing the texture mapping for the tender, because at the moment both the front and the back of both the tender buffer beams are textured the same. I think the motion needs dirtying up more, as it looks in almost the condition that most preserved locos are kept in!
Cheers

Most Scottish exLNER locos had the class and depot name on the bufferbeam.
