New route

Post by jimessex »

These are some pics from my new route that is starting to take shape and being my first route I'm fairly pleased so far.

Be interested to know what people think.

Also would be interested if anyone can guess the location. Its based on a real line but fictional of course so I can be excused for missing things.

If the RE keeps behaving as it currently is then this route will be released in about 2099!!

Jim

Could actually be either the Southend or Clacton branches....

Or the LT&S, that's a possibility. Something next to a large expanse of water, at least.

Assuming that signal's authentic, I would say somewhere Great Eastern as I don't know of anywhere else that they still have searchlights.

It wouldn't be Brentwood, because it's Four-Track through Brentwood.

Thanks for your kind words so far on the route.

I can reveal that you were close and that is the London Tilbury and Southend line and the station featured is Leigh on Sea.

As I said its my first route so its a bit ropey in places but I'm pleased so far.
Its set in the Network Southeast era of slam door trains and the antiquated signalling system.

I will put a new post soon in the Route Building Forum with some new pics.

Really well done, Jim. I used the next station up the line, Benfleet, for over twenty years and was Area Controller for the LTS line 1970-82. You have got good old Leigh exactly as it is. Hope you've got the cockle sheds too!!! I knew the line in steam days too and can remember the station before the up line was diverted to form the third platform. A great railway not known by many but alternately loved and hated by its' users!!
Best Wishes, James
